Procedures

  • Students are asked to follow school rules in the library in regard to respecting property and each other. Since the library is a “happening” place with many different things happening at one time, students need to be extra considerate of others and aware of their surroundings.
  • Students may visit the library throughout the day according to need and classroom teacher discretion.  The library is also open before and after school, and during Unit Lunch for student use.
  • All borrowed equipment must be checked out to the individual borrowing student or teacher, whether for in library or outside library use.
  • The library has an unlimited book borrowing policy,  however, if you are not reading a book, we ask that you return it for others to read. Books are due back 3 weeks after being checked out. Students may renew books,i f they are not on hold for another student.
  • Classroom teachers and the School Librarian collaboratively plan student learning experiences throughout the school year. Classes visit the library to participate in these learning experiences on a flexible schedule.
